Alright, so here’s the deal with this Rokky thing. They went ahead and snapped up this Chinese platform called ChinaPlay. Now, don’t ask me how much they shelled out for it, ’cause nobody’s saying. ChinaPlay is all about bringing stuff that’s not from China into the Chinese gaming scene. Basically, they help with marketing and make sure the prices fit what folks over there can handle. Apparently, they got like a million users every year. Wild, right?
So, there’s this guy Vadim, who’s one of the big shots at Rokky. He goes on about how tough it is to get into the Chinese market. You got all these rules and hoops to jump through, and somehow they think snagging ChinaPlay is gonna fix all that. Vadim’s dream? Connect game creators with China’s bazillion PC gamers, or something like that.
Meanwhile, Denis, the guy running the show at ChinaPlay, is all excited. He reckons this is a big move to become better middlemen between game makers around the world and Chinese gamers. They’re planning to be all over local forums, give players more bang for their buck in rewards, and maybe bring in more game options. It’s all about making connections, he says. People love that word, “connections.”
Oh, and a quick heads up: Alex Calvin wrote this, and he’s done some stuff with Rokky before. Just so you know.
