Fast-paced and, well, kinda nerve-wracking – that’s ION Shift for you. This hardcore 2D platformer (from Flynn’s Arcade and Electro Soul Games) is hitting the Nintendo Switch on July 31. Why am I excited? No idea, but it’s one of those things you just feel, y’know? Check it out, if you’ve got a sec. Or don’t. Your call.
Oh, before I forget, there’s some birthdate check thingy to watch the video. Odd, but there it is.
Anyway – wait, where was I? Right, ION Shift. It’s a whirlwind of tricky moves, deep space shenanigans, and this alien fella trying to outlast everything this mega spaceship throws at them. Seriously, hostile soldiers everywhere. And turrets! Man, those turrets are relentless. Kind of like my old boss. But in a good way? Maybe.
Combat? It’s wild – like, imagine running across a sandbox arena, launching stuff, tossing around these gadgets, and trying not to get fried by laser drones. It’s kinda like a dance. A very chaotic dance with a strategic twist. Every leap and dodge is like “Do I really wanna do this?”, but then again, what choice do you really have?
Anyway – wait, doing it again, my bad – more to come soon! We’ll be scribbling out a review on ION Shift over at PS4Blog.net. If you’re still here after all this rambling, thanks for stickin’ around.
