Many are annoyed by the fact that default cosmetics are now hidden behind a series of six bonus reward pages. Typically, bonus rewards provide players with the chance to unlock additional styles and items that aren’t part of the standard battle pass. However, to acquire all these cosmetics, players often need to climb up to level 150, which is no small feat.

Despite this, Epic Games’ recent launch of Chapter 6 Season 2 has been applauded for its updates. Many players have praised the new map changes, reveling in fresh locations to explore. They are also enjoying the revamped loot pool, with new weapons and items making their mark. The Kneecapper, in particular, has become a fan favorite, allowing players to charge at foes with a baseball bat for a powerful combination attack. Skins like Big Dill and Outlaw Midas in the battle pass have been well-received too, bringing some much-desired variety to players’ wardrobes.

In a recent Reddit discussion, a user named BuffWobbuffet highlighted an interesting point: to unlock the default style of the Pickle Chip glider, players must reach the sixth page of bonus rewards in the battle pass. In contrast, the default Big Dill skin can be unlocked much sooner, at just level 100. BuffWobbuffet argued that this setup is “ridiculous,” emphasizing that not everyone has the time or ability to complete the full pass and bonus rewards.

This isn’t the first time players have faced such challenges. Many fans pointed out that earlier battle passes have had similar structures, locking default cosmetics behind bonus rewards, making them feel like essentials rather than optional extras. Some players have shared their frustration about reaching only level 100 during past seasons, leaving their cosmetic collections mismatched.

Furthermore, the absence of Kicks in recent battle passes has also caused a stir among Fortnite’s community. Originally introduced in November before being moved to the Item Shop, Kicks have been critiqued by players for being overpriced at 1,000 V-Bucks. Many fans feel that Kicks would be more enticing at a reduced cost or if included with battle passes and special events.
