This weekend, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is vanishing from the app stores. Poof. Just like that. It’s been only a year since it launched in March 2024. Seems kinda wild, right? Activision spilled the beans in a social media post Friday. Apparently, folks just didn’t love it like they do on consoles and PCs. Bummer.
So, yeah, no more updates, no more buying those Call of Duty Points, or whatever they’re called, with real money. But if you’ve still got leftover currency, you can use it. Servers? They’ll stick around, and you can still sync with your console or PC game. Weirdly enough, social features are getting the boot. And come May 18, 2025, you’re out of luck if you haven’t downloaded it by then. Better rush if you’re still keen.
Activision says they’re kinda paring things down – and hey, they’re proud of the whole “let’s put Warzone on a phone” thing. Still, sigh… it didn’t wow the mobile-first crowd. Go figure. I guess console and PC folks are a whole different breed?
Anyway, they expressed gratitude, love, etc. to all the Warzone Mobile fans. And — get this — they’re nudging folks toward Call of Duty: Mobile. Why not? They’re offering some sweet deals if you jump ship. Double your COD Points if you switch over before August 15, 2025. Just sign in with the same account used for the, uh, less-than-successful game.
Oh, and about the beginning? Warzone Mobile had a big splash. Like, 50 million pre-registrations and a whopping $1.4 million in just four days. And yet… here we are. The game didn’t stick the landing. Guess that’s showbiz, or gamedev, same thing maybe? Anyway, throw those pre-download parties quick, or just, you know, reminisce about what could’ve been.
