Stainless Appoints Ben Gunstone as CEO

Carmageddon’s chaos mastermind, Stainless Games, just threw a curveball and named Ben Gunstone their new honcho. Yep, that’s right, he’s the CEO now. This dude’s stepping into the shoes of Patrick Buckland, who, by the way, has been running the show since… forever? Well, 1994 to be exact. I wonder what was playing on the radio when he kicked things off? Nirvana, maybe?

So, Ben’s kinda new—he only jumped on board in 2022. Like, he got hired as some game director, blinked a few times, and bam, now he’s in charge. Must’ve done something right, huh? Before this gig, he was with Dovetail Games, probably plotting his next big move over a coffee or two.

Ben’s all ecstatic and humbled about his new role—y’know, pretty standard speech stuff. But he’s got Buckland hanging around as Executive Chairman to show him the ropes. Or, who knows, maybe just sharing Spider Solitaire tips during breaks.

Our boy Patrick says he’s moving “sideways”—whatever that means. He jokes about looking 70 despite rolling into his 62nd year soon. Talk about not taking life too seriously, right? But stepping back sounds fair, I mean, running a software company’s no joke. Now he’s free to chase his love for making games, like that’s anything but a wild ride itself.
