Genshin Impact 5.8 Permanently Adds Summer Event Map and Debuts First Nod-Krai Character

Oh wow, so the Genshin Impact Special Program just wrapped up, and — surprise, surprise — we’ve got all the juicy details on the next big update. Version 5.8, and they’re calling it Sunspray Summer Resort, hits on July 30. Mark your calendars or not. I mean, you do you.

So here’s the thing, and it’s kinda cool, there’s this new character from some place called Nod-Krai. Sounds exotic, right? Anyway, that’s not the only update. There’s a whole new map too — Easybreeze Holiday Resort. Yeah, I know, it sounds like a commercial for a luxury island.

This place is somewhere off the coast of Natlan. It kinda splits into four zones, with a cutesy mascot named Asha. But Asha isn’t just about looking adorable; she actually helps you glide over water and whatnot. Or am I just making this up? But seriously, she helps with puzzles too.

Moving on, we get Ineffa, a new 5-star Electro polearm user. First from, you guessed it, Nod-Krai. And what’s this about Lunar-Charged reactions? Sounds fancy. Her event Wish pops up in Phase 1, and then they’re doing reruns with Citlali, Mualani, and someone else. I lost track.

Oh, and if fashion’s your jam, Yelan and Bennett are getting outfit updates. Bennett’s is free — woohoo! — but Yelan’s costs you. I guess discounts are the silver lining?

Anyway, we’ve got new stories, something with Bennett, Chasca, who else… Venti? I dunno. Then there’s Song of the Welkin Moon — quite the mouthful, huh? It’s all about Ineffa’s past.

There are new seasonal events with mini-games. And that’s how you snag Bennett’s outfit. There’s also this Claymore thing — Flame-Forged Insight. I mean, sure, why not?

And currency! Because what’s a game without some fancy in-game moolah? Sunspray Spirit is what you’ll be collecting. There’s a boss fight too, somewhere called Mare Jivari. Bakunawa’s the big baddie this time. Get your game face on!
