Why would a train be our invite to a black hole? Wild, right?
Okay, so Bungie’s got this new thing, Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate, dropping on July 15. Got a maddening invite to some new world, Kepler, via a train from today’s Earth. And this place, Kepler, is barely keeping it together ’cause of some black hole. If it goes kaboom, we’re all toast. Anyway, the whole setup’s packed with time wonks, baddies, and powers you haven’t toyed with before.
I spent way too long diving into Bungie’s latest. Played solo missions, tried mods—got lost in Kepler’s crazy world. Turned myself into this zippy energy ball, messed with these traps—honestly, it was a blast. Tweaked the new Portal system, gave SoloOps a whirl, and got into Arms Week action. All yours even if you don’t splurge on The Edge of Fate.
Kepler’s terrain? Kind of a mess. Rocks, dust, and these freaky yellow growths everywhere. Trains from Earth? Yup, crash-landed there—and they come with portals to who-knows-where. It’s weird, and I dig it.
And Lodi—this dude you’ll meet there. Seems real taken by Earth folks, probably because he resembles one. Bungie pretty much uses him to reel newbies into Destiny 2.
Matterspark orbs? Oh man, hold that Square button and bam!—you’re a shocking orb darting around, zapping foes. Took out a miniboss by overcharging some pylons. Eventually, you can morph into that orb whenever you want. Cool, huh?
Now for the Relocator—this tech lets you pop a temporary portal. Spot a target, boom, you’re through tight spots or vast gaps. Combine it with Matterspark, and voila, you’ve got some mind-bending puzzles.
Then there’s Mattermorph. Grab some potent fungus, and it’s off to morph pathways with strand projectiles. Spur-of-the-moment creativity, anyone?
On to the Exotics—Graviton Spike, New Land Beyond, Third Iteration. My fave is obviously the Third Iteration. Cook your foes with precision, and it cloaks you briefly. Good times.
The Charge mission? Absolute gem. Mixes puzzles with heart-racing fights. Power-up with the Matterspark and clear those bosses. Tricky, maybe. Rewarding? Totally.
Transient mission: Takedown time at an enemy power plant. The goal? Overload the main core, knocking out an enemy warship. Explosive, literally.
Portal menu—a super shortcut to dive into Destiny stuff. Test your guns, enjoy modes like SoloOps, Fireteam, and Crucible. The classic galaxy map’s still there for nostalgia.
SoloOps challenges let you crank up the difficulty for better loot. From Salt Mines to K1 Logistics, it’s all about wiping out enemies and bosses. Collect armor for set bonuses—it’s a gear-collecting spree.
And let’s not forget Arms Week. Comes right after the expansion. A new Shooting Range? Heck yeah! Gather your mates, test firepower, and optimize your loadout.
So, are you ready to rally your Fireteam and hit Kepler when Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate drops? Mark July 15. It’s gonna be one heck of a ride!
