DOOM: The Dark Ages Hits 3 Million Players Since Launch

Whoa, okay, so there’s this new game called DOOM: The Dark Ages, right? And it’s like, somehow a big deal already—3 million players just dived in since it dropped. I mean, numbers don’t usually stick with me, but this one did. Maybe that’s a lot? Anyway, it kinda squished the older DOOM Eternal in terms of speed. Seriously, only took a fraction of the time. Maybe it’s those Xbox Game Pass peeps jumping on board. I dunno, could be.

And here’s a twist: you can play it on Battle.net too. Why? Microsoft wants to shake things up, I guess. Now, why anyone would switch up their launcher is beyond me—comfort zones, you know? But hey, more options never hurt anyone. Or did they?

Oh, and this game—the visuals are supposed to level up big time soon, like with this Path Tracing thingamajig in June. Makes me think of expensive sunglasses for your screen. Maybe it’s just me, but do we always need new graphics? I get it, shiny stuff’s cool. But the game’s also getting some story expansion eventually; can’t wait to see what new chaos ensues.

I gotta say, battling demons while riding dragons or in mechs—it’s like someone crammed my childhood fantasies into a digital realm. Seriously, who thought that up? Riding dragons? Seems over-the-top, but I’m here for it. The DLC is on the horizon too, sort of, but with no concrete date. If I know these devs, we’ll probably end up squishing more demons with cool stuff. I’ll be waiting, impatiently.

Anyway, it’s playable just about everywhere—Xbox, PC, PS5—take your pick. So, if you’re into chaotic fun, and a sprinkle of silliness doesn’t bother you, it might be worth a look. Just saying.
