Okay, so here’s the deal. SEGA just dropped a demo for this new 2D action thing called Shinobi: Art of Vengeance on Nintendo Switch. I stumbled upon it on the eShop—honestly, I was just poking around for something else, but you know how that goes.
Anyway, this demo lets you muck around in this place called Oboro Village. You’re basically doing the ninja thing, fighting enemies and jumping around like a maniac. There’s something about aiming for a high score in Arcade Mode, and they throw a bone with some secret abilities you wouldn’t usually get at the start. Cool, right? Maybe? Depends if you’re into surprises. Or not. Up to you.
So, this whole thing is like a collab with Lizardcube. The world is all artsy, and you play as Joe Musashi—our main dude who’s a ninja master. He comes home, and bam, his village is toast and folks are statues. Real cheerful stuff. The game’s all about vengeance. I’m sensing a theme.
You’re battling through a bunch of crazy hand-drawn stages. They sound pretty wild—like, military bases to deserts. What’s next, underwater levels with sharks? Anyway—back to the point. There are bosses and hidden paths, which is neat if you’re into exploring every nook and cranny.
SEGA’s boasting a bunch of fancy features: unique worlds, a bunch of ninja gear like a big katana (I love saying “katana”), and combos you can mix up any way you want. Oh, and Amulets for extra oomph and Ningi tools for obstacles and stuff.
Mark your calendars—August 29, 2025, is when this thing drops for real on the Nintendo eShop. So, that’s something to look forward to, assuming you’re into this sort of pixelated ninja vengeance journey.
And oh, trailers and screenshots are floating around out there somewhere if you’re keen to peep those. They’re probably linked wherever you found this spiel. Or maybe they slipped my mind. Who knows.
