Seems like everyone and their grandma wanted the new Switch 2. Who knew, right? The thing hit shelves in June and absolutely crushed the original Switch’s sales—by, like, a million. Crazy stuff. The U.S. and the U.K. folks seemed pretty chill, no major drama there, but Japan? Total chaos. Some shareholder had to ask Furukawa straight up what the deal was with the shortage.
He was like, “Yeah, so… Switch 2’s flying off shelves faster than we can stock ’em. Lots of you—even folks who own our stock—can’t get your hands on one. Since April, we tried this lottery thing on My Nintendo Store. Millions wanted in, blew our minds, seriously. I had to apologize, all official-like.”
