For the record, 35% of 15,000 is 5,250. And now you might get why our News Editor picked a place where lighting up a joint is just fine and dandy.
So, Nintendo dropped some news about backward compatibility between the Switch 1 and Switch 2, and it’s kind of a mixed bag, to be honest. We’re talking about those first-party games, you know, the big shots. Out of 112, just one, the Labo VR kit, decides to sit this one out. Apparently, it’s because its design is all about the OG Switch’s smaller screen. The rest, yep, they made the cut.
Now, when it comes to those 15,000 or so partner games, that’s where it gets crazy. About 65% of them are good to go. As for the rest, let’s just say 34% want to keep things interesting with “playable with issues” status. Yeah, not perfect, but you roll with it, right?
Then there’s this whole deal with apps. Streaming stuff like Hulu, Crunchyroll, Niconico, and AbemaTV, plus that comic reader, InkyPen—they just don’t make it. Why? No clue exactly, but maybe they’re on a coffee break or something.
Oh, and almost forgot—hidden away in those pesky .pdf files on the compatibility site are nuggets like Fortnite, which is getting fixed up after launch. You know, even though there’s already a shiny new version for Switch 2. Because why not complicate things?
My brain’s buzzing enough for today. Let’s hope yours is too.
