I mean, who wouldn’t want to? You’ve got Williams Electronics’ Defender — totally a blast if you’re into old-school arcade vibes. And then there’s GoldenEye 007 from Rare. I think it’s like, if you played this, you basically had the coolest sleepovers. No kidding, the multiplayer on that one was legendary.
Quake by id Software also made the cut. I swear, it’s like the granddaddy of online multiplayer games — if you didn’t get fragged in a few seconds, did you even play? And Tamagotchi. Honestly, if you didn’t frantically try to keep that virtual pet alive during boring classes or family dinners, were you even there in the 90s?
These four champs were picked from a list of 2025 nominees. And, wow, that list!
