As promised, Sony’s back, finally telling us when we’re gonna see more Ghost of Yotei gameplay. I’m not sure if you remember, but the last time they talked about this was, like, over a month ago. Right smack in the middle of all those summer events.
Back then, we got a tiny peek—a trailer of sorts—and they said, “Hey, more is coming.” Well, it’s July now, way past that first week, so I guess we’re owing to get something new soon.
Anyway—wait, hold on, where was I? Ah, right. A State of Play livestream is set, fully dedicated to this game, on Thursday, July 10. It’s about 20 minutes long, not too crazy, and they’re gonna dive into the nitty-gritty of the game’s stuff—systems and mechanics and all that.
You’ll have Jason Connell and Nate Fox, creative minds from Sucker Punch, leading the charge. They’ll highlight the sequel’s story, following Atsu’s journey, and show off new weapons. Oh, and they mentioned something about “personalizing your journey.” Sounds intriguing, or maybe it’s just me hoping for some cool new features.
And guess what? There’s talk of new modes. Might be a twist on the Legends co-op from the original Ghost of Tsushima, or possibly something wild like the Kurosawa mode, which honestly felt like a quirky throwback to old Samurai flicks.
All this and more will unravel in a packed showcase, live-streamed at 2pm PT, 5pm ET, 10pm BST, and 11pm CEST on PlayStation’s Twitch and YouTube—wherever you prefer to tune in.
Mark your calendars, folks. Ghost of Yotei hits PS5 on October 2. It’s happening.
