Mild Spoilers for Death Stranding 2… Maybe?
Alright, so Kojima Productions is up to something sneaky again. After nailing it with Death Stranding 2, they’re cooking up not one, but two projects. One’s got the placeholder name "OD" and it’s all about horror. The other one, "Physint," is like a peek back into Metal Gear Solid-style espionage. Super secretive stuff—nobody knows a thing about it. Seriously, it’s like they put it in a locked box and forgot where they left the key.
Speaking of OD, okay, it’s supposed to be a horror extravaganza. They’ve thrown out a teaser that’s pure Kojima – the kind of oddball quirky that makes you wonder what you just watched. No full storyline yet, but the teaser has fans buzzing. Death Stranding 2 might’ve been leaving little breadcrumbs about what’s to come. Is anyone else seeing wild connections, or is that just me?
Oh, and there’s a wild detail about OD. It’s gonna be dropped exclusively on Xbox. Co-written by Jordan Peele! Yep, the guy who freaked us out with "Get Out." The cast is, uh, star-studded with Sophia Lillis, Udo Kier, and Hunter Schafer. Just marinate on that ensemble for a second.
Now, Death Stranding 2 isn’t horror per se, but there are bits that are right out of a nightmare. Floating heads, tentacles, you name it. Like, who dreams this stuff up? Only Kojima. BTs, those creepy beings, are scarier than ever, and it feels like he’s just warming up for what OD might bring. Imagine all this, but without the safety net—full-on horror with no holds barred.
The OD trailer hints at psychological spooks. It’s all vibes and atmosphere. Brief, but there’s a feeling—it’s one of those trailer moments that makes goosebumps crawl up your arms. Remember PT? Yeah, Kojima’s faux-Silent Hill teaser? It had psychological twists and creepy body horror too, so it wouldn’t be surprising if OD follows suit.
Still, Death Stranding 2 keeps it on the safe side—a PG-13 horror flavor, but don’t let that fool you. It manages to punch you with shock anyway. If OD keeps spinning that thread of mind-bending fear, players might be in for a whole new level of terror.
Microsoft had layoffs—big shocker—but OD is apparently dodging that bullet. Lucky break. Perfect Dark and Everwild weren’t so fortunate, but hey, OD survives. People have been chomping at the bit for a Kojima horror title for… forever. This one’s shrouded in mystery, making it all the more enticing.
At the end of the day, Kojima Productions is deep into OD, no deadlines in sight. Let’s hope it doesn’t take forever and a day to drop. After the emotional marathon that Death Stranding 2 put us through, seeing how Kojima tackles horror is going to be something. Might as well buckle up now for whatever’s coming next.
