Okay, let me give this a whirl.

So, big news in the chaos that is the Borderlands universe, right? We’ve got a new peek at Borderlands 4 coming up on June 21. But, plot twist — this time it’s not dropping on YouTube! Yeah, go figure. 2K and Gearbox decided to keep us on our toes, as usual.
Digging back a bit, they dropped the initial word about Borderlands 4 at Gamescom in 2024. Anyone remember that hurricane of announcements? Since then, we’ve been treated to a whole array of teasers. Got the “Official First Look,” then “Official Launch Date,” plus some gameplay previews. There was even a 20-minute deep dive, which was a wild ride if you managed to catch it.
Now, here’s the quirky thing — hold onto your hats — the latest trailer isn’t hitting mainstream right away. Only the real insiders get to peep it first on Twitch and Steam. Strange choice, or maybe they’re just teasing us? The event kicks off at 12:45 PM PT, so make sure you’re actually awake or at least half-aware of life at that moment.
The trailer is supposed to bring the usual explosion of insanity, guns, and yes, the fabulous Mad Moxxi, making it all worth the wait. Does anyone else freak out a little every time she’s on screen, or is that just me? They’re keeping quiet about how long this joyride will last, but based on their previous teasers, don’t expect a full-length feature film.
Oh, and get this, during the Borderlands Fan Fest, they’re handing out some kind of Vault Symbol Twitch badge. And you don’t even have to actually watch — really? Just leave that stream running, muted, if you must, for 30 minutes, and bam, badge secured. Another reason to love or loathe modern fandom perks.
Borderlands 4 was supposed to hit store shelves on September 23 but surprise — not anymore. They’ve shuffled things a bit earlier to September 12. At least it’s dropping on all the good platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC. And, the ever-elusive Nintendo Switch 2 is supposed to join the party, hopefully before 2025 wraps up.
So, strap in, folks. It’s going to be another wild ride with Borderlands, as if we expect anything less.
