Hey, so I stumbled upon this random bit of news – Sega just dropped the English voice crew for Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut on that new Nintendo Switch 2. And, oh boy, launching on June 5, 2025, which feels like ages away. Oh, and there’s this new tune, “Bubble,” by Shōnan no Kaze. Not sure why, but the name totally conjures up images of floating plastic. Weird, right?
Leading the pack is Yong Yea, a YouTuber? Yeah, he’s giving voice to Kazuma Kiryu. And Topher Ngo’s got some of the singing covered. Then there’s David Hayter, Matt Mercer, Kaiji Tang, Risa Mei… and a bunch of others whose names I’m probably butchering in my head.
Honestly, I might lean towards the OG Japanese voiceovers – it’s the vibe, man. But hey, English dialogue is there if that’s your thing.
Here’s a crazy mess of who’s voicing who:
– Kazuma Kiryu – Yong Yea / Topher Ngo singing. Maybe he’s the karaoke king? No clue.
– Goro Majima – Matt Mercer
– Akira Nishikiyama – Kaiji Tang / Greg Chun sings – because why not, right?
– Makoto Makimura – Risa Mei… wait, did I already say that? Yep, twice!
– Osamu Kashiwagi – David Hayter
– Jun Oda – Alejandro Saab
– Tsukasa Sagawa – Andrew Kishino
– Tetsu Tachibana – Howard Wang
– And the list rambles on, like looking at my laundry list mid-week.
Two clips are out if you wanna hear how these dudes sound in-game. Maybe they’ll wow you. Or not. I still can’t play a game without getting distracted by random details, but maybe that’s just me.
Anyway, did these voice cast choices get you hyped up, or are you more “meh”? Tell me what’s buzzing around in your head, but play nice, cool?
